Vintage Bike Prices Continue to Rise
Up until a few years ago vintage bikes here in the USA Market were sold at near nothing value and since then their prices have been rising steadily. What gives. The simple answer, they become scarce. For decades here in the USA Market we use to see hundreds of vintage bikes to buy and refurbish each month, and now we’re lucky to find five we might consider as possibe candidates to refurbish. Beyond that most are way to damaged, rotted and/or worn out to even be consider, or just not desirable models. We personally don’t see this trend changing, especially for the more desirable Vintage bikes made in the 1970s to 1990s. The internet and favorable currency exchange rates has also contribute to their scarcity too. Basically, many of these Vintage treasures are being exported to other countries, because the exchange rate makes them a great bargain to many outside the USA, especially in Countries that have a strong bike culture with a respectful appreciation for their amazing craftsmanship, rare beauty and value. How much will they keep going up, we’re not sure, but we’re sure as time goes by they are certain to become even more scarce, including here at the Zoshe's Bike Market and elsewhere.
